Generative AI Creative Application Showcase and Competition for First-Year IT Students

Event Name: Generative AI Creative Application Showcase and Competition for First-Year IT Students
Event Date: Monday, December 16, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Event Format:

  • Students will be organized into teams of 4-5 members by their class advisors.
  • Approximately 25 teams are expected to participate.
  • The event will be held at the North Lobby of the L Building, 1st floor.
  • Each team will set up a poster booth to display their creative works, engage with attendees, and participate in the evaluation process.

Event Background

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the global economy, as well as the daily lives and work environments of people of all ages. The widespread adoption of AI has ushered society into an era of deep AI applications. To empower students to thrive in this new world and coexist with AI, this event aims to ensure that all students develop AI literacy, become proficient in using various AI tools, and understand the responsible use of AI technologies. Students will also learn to apply AI innovations to daily life and work, creating value that benefits humanity. Through this Generative AI showcase and competition, the event seeks to enhance students' skills in innovative AI tool applications, interdisciplinary integration, and self-directed learning.


Participants

The event is open to first-year students from the Department of Information Technology and Management, Shih Chien University, who enrolled in the 2023 academic year. Participation is in teams of 4-5 members.


Requirements and Content

Participating teams must use Generative AI tools to create various applications and works. These may include but are not limited to creative content generation, music production, text creation, visual design, and programming. Submissions must include two components:

  1. Project Description Document

    • Format: Word file, maximum 3 pages.

    • Content Requirements:

      1. Project Title
      2. Author Information (Name and Student ID)
      3. Abstract
      4. Motivation and Objective
      5. CDIO Process
      6. Conclusion

      CDIO Process:

      • C (Conceive): Idea generation
      • D (Design): Design phase
      • I (Implementation): Implementation phase
      • O (Operation): Operational phase

      If the project involves collaborative software tools or special methods, these must be detailed in the document.

  2. Final Poster

    • Specifications: A1 size (59.4 x 84.1 cm), electronic file to be submitted within the specified timeframe for centralized printing by the department.
    • File Naming Format: ClassA_or_B_Team##_ProjectTitle.pdf

Evaluation Criteria

  • Completeness: 60%
  • Poster Design: 20%
  • On-Site Presentation and Interaction: 20%

Awards and Prizes

The top 5 teams will be awarded prizes, along with honorable mentions. Each winning team will receive prize money to recognize their exceptional creativity and efforts.
