Department of Information Technology and Management Students Visit ASUS Guandu Headquarters to Gain Insights into Corporate Culture and Career Development Opportunities To enhance students' understanding of the industry and broaden their career perspectives, the Department of Information Technology and Management organized a corporate visit on March 11, 2025. Professor Yu and Students visited the ASUS Guandu Headquarters – Ligong Building for an in-depth learning and exchange experience. This event was coordinated with the Taipei Youth Career Development Center (TYS) of the Taipei City Government and the university's Career Development Center, providing students with a firsthand look at the operations of the technology industry and exploring future career opportunities. Visit OverviewAt 1:00 PM, students gathered at the side entrance of the gymnasium building at Shih Chien University and took a bus to ASUS headquarters. After an hour-long journey, they arrived at the Ligong Building, where they were warmly welcomed by ASUS representatives and began their visit in the 2nd-floor conference room. The visit started with a corporate presentation and video screening, introducing ASUS’s history, corporate culture, key products, and market influence. The presentation also highlighted ASUS's internship program, salary structures, and employee benefits, giving students a deeper understanding of how the company nurtures young talent. The ASUS internship program has been running for 28 years, with over 1,600 undergraduate and graduate students participating. Many of them successfully transitioned into full-time employees at ASUS, including several of the company representatives hosting the visit that day. Corporate Tour and In-Depth DiscussionsFollowing the presentation, the group was split into two smaller teams for guided tours of ASUS headquarters. Students had the opportunity to explore various departments, including office spaces, R&D divisions, and product display areas, gaining a clearer understanding of the company's internal operations. ASUS staff members were friendly and engaged in conversations with students, explaining the roles of different departments, operational processes, and sharing their personal career experiences. During the visit, students actively asked questions about future technology trends, AI and cloud computing applications, and how interns can make an impact in the workplace. ASUS representatives provided thoughtful responses and encouraged students to maintain their enthusiasm for learning and enhance their professional skills to better transition into the workforce. A Fulfilling Visit and Valuable TakeawaysAfter the corporate tour, all participants gathered in the ASUS headquarters lobby for a group photo to commemorate their learning experience. Shortly after, the group boarded the bus back to the university, marking the conclusion of an insightful and rewarding corporate visit. Through this visit, students from the Department of Information Technology and Management not only gained a deeper understanding of the technology industry but also received valuable career planning advice and internship opportunities. The insights shared by ASUS representatives reinforced students’ confidence and excitement about pursuing careers in the tech sector.
