2023 Graduation Project Presentation and Competition Successfully Held, Showcasing Innovation and Technology
The "Department of Information Technology and Management" of Shih Chien University and the "Software Engineering and Digital Creativity Bachelor's Degree Program" of Fu Jen Catholic University jointly organized the "2023 Cross-University Joint Project Presentation and Competition" at the International Conference Hall of the Information Resource Center Building of Shih Chien University on November 29, 2023. The event, themed "Powering Progress, Shaping Tomorrow," attracted 44 teams from both universities, including 34 teams from Shih Chien University and 10 teams from Fu Jen Catholic University, collectively showcasing students' innovative capabilities and technical prowess in the fields of information technology and management.
The event was divided into preliminary rounds in the morning and finals in the afternoon. During the preliminaries, the 44 teams were split into three groups for scoring, with the top four teams from each group advancing to the afternoon finals. The results were announced at noon, with 8 teams from Shih Chien University and 4 teams from Fu Jen Catholic University emerging victorious and proceeding to the exciting final stage.
The finals commenced promptly at 1 PM, with an opening speech delivered by Dean Liao Zhi-Feng of the College of Management, encouraging students from both universities to strive for glory. In the finals, each team had 5 minutes to present their project, followed by 5 minutes of questioning from the judging panel.
After an intense round of competition, the championship was clinched by Lin Qun, Guan Xinping, and Huang Xiqing, students from the Information Technology and Management Department of Shih Chien University, with their "Push-Up Monitoring System" project. Their project utilizes a camera to capture real-time images of push-up exercises and employs a deep learning model to analyze the user's body joint positions and movement trajectories. The system aims to help users track their exercise performance, such as the number and quality of push-ups, as well as calculate the calories burned.
The top five winning teams are:
- First Place (Shih Chien): "Push-Up Monitoring System," by Lin Qun, Guan Xinping, and Huang Xiqing.
- Second Place (Shih Chien): "AI Smart Enterprise Carbon Emission Website," by Gao Cide, Wang Xinyu, and Gao Xinting.
- Third Place (Fu Jen): "The Migratory Birds Have Arrived," by You Peiyan, Wang Boxu, Wu Yuxin, Li Zhilin, and Qiu Jiamin.
- Fourth Place (Shih Chien): "Research on Developing a Campus Information Retrieval Chatbot System Based on ChatGPT Technology - Taking Shih Chien University as an Example," by Gao Yijie, Zhang Yiying, and Lin Ziyi.
- Fifth Place (Shih Chien): "Intelligent Assisted Movie Recommendation System," by Xie Caixuan, Zeng Yirou, and Qiu Zhujun.
Additionally, seven teams received honorable mentions:
- Honorable Mention (Shih Chien): "Intelligent Learning Assistant," by Li Yalong, Yang Shengjie, and Lin Guanting.
- Honorable Mention (Shih Chien): "Hello, Welcome to the Information Department - Improving Office Service Quality with Face Recognition," by Wang Yijia, Hong Chengyu, and Huang Yongru.
- Honorable Mention (Fu Jen): "Perfect Now," by Chen Hao and Cheng Hong.
- Honorable Mention (Fu Jen): "Software Creation Chat Bot," by Wang Youlin, Xu Renhao, Hu Huixuan, Li Zongyu, and Ding Baiyang.
- Honorable Mention (Shih Chien): "Application of Reinforcement Learning in OpenAI Gym Game Environments," by You Zihong, Chen Xuanrui, and Ye Pinwei.
- Honorable Mention (Fu Jen): "IOT Smart Living," by Hung Khao, Jiang Yuxin, Huang Shihua, and Shi Xiaoyu.
- Honorable Mention (Shih Chien): "Image Recognition Combined with AI Computing for Automatic Rubik's Cube Restoration," by Chen Jian'an, Zhang Youxiang, and Zhan Junxiang.
This competition not only showcased the innovative spirit and technical capabilities of students from both universities but also deepened academic exchange and collaboration between the two institutions. Approximately 140 students participated in this event. With the successful conclusion of this competition, the participating students not only gained invaluable experience but also laid a solid foundation for their future journey of innovation.
